Although it is very easy to get frustrated with market conditions now, I have actually been viewing the current SMP situation a little more positively lately. I’m pretty restricted and loyal, and that’s the kind of person I would like to be with. However, if I end up with anyone at all, I would much prefer they be of such a temperament naturally rather than as a product of social conditioning/etc.. This SMP really allows people to live and do as they please in accordance with their values, and although pasts are far from being transparent, it does make it easier to tell whose values are really in line with your own, rather than who is simply acting according to a social norm but doesn’t really believe/agree with it necessarily (thinking unrestricted persons in previously suppressive SMP’s). In keeping my selective factors close to my own values it will also inadvertently select for other traits such as independence of thought and action, less influenced by group think and peer pressure, delayed gratification, and other traits I would consider positive. 67Passer_By April 12, 2013 at 5:37 pm @Susan “They looked at each other, eyes wide, then cracked up, then told me I needed a new internist.” Why? Did they not hear you say how “pleased” you were by the whole process? 68Mireille April 12, 2013 at 5:59 pm @ Passer By, Susan Well I know where to go now when I’m feeling a bit lonely. Emergency late Saturday night breast exam. “I think there is something wrong in my boob area.” Takes out Merlot from purse. 69Susan Walsh April 12, 2013 at 7:03 pm In keeping my selective factors close to my own values it will also inadvertently select for other traits such as independence of thought and action, less influenced by group think and peer pressure, delayed gratification, and other traits I would consider positive.
